A Korean bathhouse phrase cheat sheet

You can get through a whole jjimjilbang visit with almost no Korean. But these are the words you'll actually run into โ€” at the counter, at the scrub table, and on the doors. Skim them once and you'll feel a lot less lost.

If you memorize just two characters

Make it ๋‚จ (nam) = men and ์—ฌ (yeo) = women. These are the two you'll see on the locker-room doors, and walking through the wrong one is the one mistake worth avoiding.

Reading the signs

The words on the door tell you what kind of place you're in and which way to go.
